BG characters in 5th edition
I've been fiddling with 5th edition D&D a lot recently, and for fun, I decided to try and figure out what classes/"kits" the BG characters would be in 5E. No real reason for doing it, other than I was bored one day. I only did the BG2 NPCs, though, because I wasn't that bored. Anyway, I figured I'd post this in case any of you fine folks thought it was interesting, or had feedback to provide, or wanted to help me add the BG1 NPCs.
I explicitly avoided multiclassing, as frankly 5E just wasn't made to accommodate it. This tends to put the multiclassed characters in fairly awkward spots, and I'm not always happy with my substitutions.
Imoen: Bard, college of lore
*Alternate: Rogue, arcane trickster
This one was tricky, because it's a multiclass. College of Lore bard should give her sufficient access to the thief skills she uses, though, and it's a very good spellcasting class.
Minsc: Barbarian, path of the totem warrior
Barbarian just fits Minsc more than ranger. He's a berserker, and rangers don't berserk. Lore-wise, the totem warrior seems the most similar to the Rashemi berserkers.
Aerie: Cleric, knowledge domain
I figured a caster-cleric would fit her better than a mage, and knowledge is about as castery a domain as it gets.
Nalia: Wizard, any
I didn't really know what to do with Nalia. She's not a good enough thief to be a bard or arcane trickster, imo, so I think she just gets to be a wizard with a few thief skills.
Keldorn: Paladin, oath of devotion
What else would he be?
Valygar: Ranger, hunter
See Keldorn.
Mazzy: Paladin, oath of devotion
*Alternate: Fighter, champion
She's a fighter in the game, but once you remove race restrictions, it's pretty clear she'd be a paladin.
Jaheira: Druid, circle of the land (forest)
*Alternate: Paladin, oath of the ancients
The druid fits her better, I think, but she fights quite well, and paladins get a lot of spells in 5E. Oath of the ancients, for those who don't know, is basically to druids what a traditional paladin is to clerics.
Yoshimo: Rogue, thief
There's no trap specialist, so this is the best we can do.
Anomen: Cleric, war domain
*Alternate: Paladin, oath of vengeance
I actually really like both these options, but cleric is probably better because we have a lot of paladins anyway.
Jan: Wizard, illusionist
*Alternate: Rogue, arcane trickster
Similar dilemma to Imoen and Nalia. My intuition tells me to make him the wizard, but he's a better thief than either of them. Arcane trickster isn't a very good spellcaster, though.
Haer’Dalis: Bard, college of valor
It's a fighty bard. Sounds right to me.
Cernd: Druid, circle of the moon
Druid specializing in shapeshifting, with lycanthropic undertones. Yep.
Korgan: Fighter, champion
*Alternate: Barbarian, path of the berserker
Fighter seems to fit better, but he is a berserker. Either one works, really.
Viconia: Cleric, trickery domain
Pretty straightforward. There's no darkness domain, but I think trickery's close enough.
Edwin: Wizard, conjurer
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Sarevok: Fighter, battlemaster
I figure this makes the most sense for him. After all, Sarevok is a thinky fighter, and battlemaster is more thinky than most.
Rasaad: Monk, way of the four elements
He's a monk, and he shoot fire. What more do you want?
Neera: Sorcerer, wild magic
Odd to have wild magic in the core rules, but convenient for our purposes.
Dorn: Warlock, pact of the fiend (blade)
*Alternate: Paladin, oathbreaker
Dorn fits the description of a fiend pact warlock to a tee, right down to the patron-given sword, but it's a very strange take on his mechanics. Oathbreaker paladin keeps him more in line with his BG capabilities, but it's just not what he fundamentally is. Plus, melee warlocks are surprisingly fun.
Hexxat: Rogue, assassin
Assassin seems more fitting than thief or arcane trickster, but I'm honestly not entirely sure.

Importing or swapping BG2:EE voice sets into BG:EE (and vice versa)
Almost since BG:EE was first released, I've been requesting that the BG2 voice sets be included on a patch and added to BG:EE. I had been hoping that since BG2:EE is supposedly completed (or near completed) that it would be much easier and more practical for the devs to simply add the voice sets into BG:EE, seeing as the sets are already ready for BG2:EE's engine and have presumably have subtitles for them.
Does anyone else here share my interest in seeing BG2 voices (and their subtitles) added to BG:EE? Can any of the devs comment on whether there are any plans to do this? If not, would it at least be relatively easy for us users to add or swap the BG2:EE voices/subtitles into BG:EE?

Which deity should a neutral Blade (Bard) follow?
Hey there
I know that bards usually follow gods like Oghma, Tymora or others related to beauty and Arts. I think that Blades, however, due to their intimidating nature and dark appearance , might follow a different deity.
Considering that I've created a neutral human Blade , who values artistic inspiration and experience , but also likes to sharpen his swords and intimidate his enemies , which deity do you think that could be fit?

-Open the NWN2 Toolset (NWN2ToolsetLauncher.exe)
-Click on Plugins at the top -> Campaign Editor

Who is Tuth and why is he worth so much XP?
I've always wondered why Tuth was worth so much XP (4,000) during the battle with Rieltar - even Rieltar himself isn't worth nearly that much.
I just did a google search for "Baldur's Gate Tuth," and this FR wiki entry came up:
http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Tuth
Is this supposed to be the same character? It mentions him being around in the year 1370, which is a year or two after the events in BG1 IIRC.

Why are there inconsistencies between BGEE and BG2EE?
Halberd's item description in BGEE says it deals either slashing or piercing damage, whichever it better. In BG2EE it says it only deals piercing damage.
Wizard Slayer in BGEE says it add spell disruption penalty to the opponent only by melee attacks. In BG2EE it says any attacks inflect the penalty.
There are some other instances where inconsistencies can be found. Are those Beamdog's mistake or do Halberds, wizzard slayer, and some items work differently from BGEE and BG2EE?
There are some spells that says Duration:1turn and in description it says duration is 5 round. What am I supposed to believe?
These kind of inconsistencies were common in the original BG1&BG2 and were very vexing. I'm a bit disappointed they still exist in EE.

The Tale of Euphonia the Half-Elven Skald and her search for the Holy SCS No-Reload Grail
Although I had decided a few weeks back that I'd take a break after Glorydd, I found myself remarkably eager to roll a new character to wash away the foul taste in my mouth left by the Dwarf's death.
This character became Euphonia, Half-Elf Skald. Conceptually it's one of my favorite classes, but my performances with Skalds have been less than stellar. Euphonia's my fourth. Ocker the Dwarf fell to Shoal's (ranged!) kiss of death, Nereniel the solo Skald died against Drasus & co, and an undocumented, non-optimized Skald was drowned by a Water Weird. So I'd say expect little, and who knows she might surprise you all

As you can see I got a very nice roll and went with optimized stats, because I think I may need every benefit I can get. Euphonia will journey with (like-minded) companions; besides her kit a second aspect of this playthrough that doesn't bode well for Euphonia hehe.
As always, I play with Rogue Rebalancing, the implications of which can be learnt here: http://readme.spellholdstudios.net/rr_core.html#Bard_kit_revisions.
Euphonia started her adventure with a Wolfskin Bag to store items in, and with a Pseudo-Dragon Familiar, Fluister. Fluister, encouraged by Euphonia's song and Swashbuckler Imoen's arrows was instrumental in the girls' first careful steps toward Sword Coast heroism. In the Red Canyons for example, it knocked a Wolf unconscious (allowing the girls to save Melicamp and seeing him restored by Thalantyr), and it even slew a Dread Wolf.

In Nashkel the familiar tanked a Baby Wyvern and killed an assassin who was after Euphonia.

At the Friendly Arm Inn Fluister made Tarnesh pay for injuring Euphonia and Imoen, with his life.

And near the High Hedge it knocked out various Gnolls for the girls.

This is not to say that the girls didn't do any hard work themselves. They slew a rogue Ogre, four Huge Spiders, and two Ogrillons themselves.

At the Nashkel Carnival, Euph and Imo pawned an enchanted Ring they'd found at the FAI. This transaction, artifiaclly high Charisma, and a heroic reputation allowed the girls to purchase the Fragment of Enlightenment Ioun Stone (+20 Lore) for the Bard and a suit of Caster's Chain (AC 5, allows spell casting), and the Deep Red Ioun Stone (+1 Dex) for the Thief. Both Short Sword wielding rogues are now level 4, and discussing Keldath's request to clear Mutamin's garden, before any other NPCs are to be recruited.

Hexxat Tob questions (spoiler alert)
So, after meeting Cabriana for the last time, if you choose to keep Hexxat with you, she makes you agree to kill her when she demands it. But if you kick her or replace her after that, she doesn't mention that deal, she just says the typical, blahblah im a powerful ally, blah huge mistake, and teleports away... Well, I don't know why it's even a big deal to me, but I have looked through other forums and walkthroughs, nobody seems to mention it at all. But for some reason I just want her to demand to die when I kick her to the curb, cuz where is she going to? Denny's? I feel like she only remains "living" because charname convinced her to run with the party. So, naturally, I would assume she would want to die her mortal death. Idk if she's supposed to say something different or if there is a global that I can enter to start a dialogue that makes her want me to kill her, but I kinda really want to put a blade in her ribs (because she's.... ASKING FOR IT haha, I know my humor is about as about as strong as a feather)
if I put this in the wrong discussion area, I'm sorry, I've never made a discussion before, but I do lots of reading here, and figured general discussion is well enough a place for my thoughts/question
Thanks in advance

Interactive Map of the Sword Coast (NWN2 PW)
So I'm working on an interactive map of the Sword Coast region, located between Waterdeep and the Cloudpeak Mountains. It is for Baldur's Gate: The Sword Coast Chronicles; a PW server for Neverwinter Nights 2. But since the server is based off the original Baldur's Gate, a lot of the areas will look familiar to those accustomed to Baldur's Gate (although some places are server specific).

The super backline Archer / Cleric
This isnt a very popular build, and I dont know why.
Some people dont know that Ranger / Cleric is a valid multi and dual class, and that the Ranger kits can dual class to clerics too.
One great thing about dualing from a ranger to a cleric is that you get all the druid spells added to your spell book, as well as 1.5 attacks per round, and can place 2 proficiency points in your cleric weapon skills.
But what if you want to make a backline slinger Cleric? The Archer kit gains +1 to hit and damage every 3 levels with ANY missile weapon, slings included so +3 to hit and damage if you dual at level 9, plus you get 2 uses of called shot which would apply -1 Thaco and -1 saving throws vs spells to your targets.
And you still gain all the druid spells in your spellbook, with a single negative of only being able to wear leather armour, and though you can still only put 2 points into slings, your cleric is still going to be a much better backline slinger than any other.
And the missile bonuses from the 9 archer levels will also apply to Energy Blades too.

"What's the name of Minsc's animal companion?"
"What is Oob spelled backwards?"
Please post only one new answer at a time.
However you may post several questions to all answers given so far in this thread.
Answers and questions have to be Baldur's Gate related.
I'll start first:
Answer: "Plug tails"
Now it's your turn to think of questions that fit that answer or to provide
a new answer.
Have fun!
for clarification: You can provide questions to old, given answers as many as you like.
The rule above just says that you must not provide more than one new answer at a time.
for example: You do not always have to provide a question to the latest answer.
Just provide questions to any previous answers you like.
Announcement: With the upcoming Icewind Dale:EE I hereby extend this thread to the Icewind Dale games.
welcome to the Reverse Question Thread, or
"Baldur's Gate Jeopardy" if you like.
In this thread I want users to provide answers.
But without any questions asked beforehand.
Instead it works the other way around.
You present answers and the others must find
appropriate questions that fit your given answer.

NPCs you love to kill
Got any NPCs that you enjoy putting an axe to?
For me, it's the guild leader of the baldur's gate thieves' guild.
He tells you that he has a job for you, planning to kill you when you are done.
If you insist on being paid upfront and knowing how much you are going to be paid, he attacks you.
If you do the job, he lets a powerful wizard attacks you, and only offers a half-hearted apology, explaining that he realizes now that it'd be too hard to kill you.
No reward. No real regret. No payment for a job that he sent you on. Just sadness that you are beyond his reach. There are few people as deserving of having the walls painted with their guts.
How about the rest of you? Any other NPCs that you enjoy taking down?
