Aerie stuck in a dialogue loop.

Just that for the past hour of gameplay. Prevents saving, cos dialogue mode. Prevents looting cos it forced back to a dialogue that hasn't happened. Any advice?

Help! Character is stutter moving how do i fix?

My main character in Baldurs Gate II enhanced edition has suddenly began stutter stepping when i move them, like they'll move part way stop for a moment then resume moving stopping every second or two. This problem just recently started in Ust Nasta. It is only plaguing the main character, I have tried restarting the game, saving and reloading as well as restarting my computer and i have no luck. Is there something I am overlooking that is causing this problem to occur?

just stumbled upon Beoloth and his mad skills. I already have Neera in the party in which I have invested quite a bit on (mage robes, spells, XP) but Beoloth seems like a boss. Would having two mages in a party be too unbalanced? My PC is a blade so already have some magic skills, I also have Dorn Viconia and Imoen, it would mean ditching Kaigan for good, dunno Clerics seem pretty vital. Neera is also important for role playinig reasons. Thoughts?

Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition?

Sorry, but I had to ask the question: Is a Neverwinter Nights Enhanced Edition a feasible idea in the distant future?

For starters, Neverwinter Nights came out the same year as Icewind Dale 2, which is up for grabs as a possible Enhanced Edition project.

In contrast, I realize Neverwinter Nights was built on a newer (no longer isometric) engine, which some might view as modern enough and unfit for being "Enhanced".

So what are your thoughts? I have not seen any Dev commentary on the subject (though IWD and IWD2 were mentioned as being of "interest" to the Devs).

It is more of a curiosity of mine than anything, mainly because Neverwinter Nights is what got me back into the Infinity Engine games after almost a decade of not playing them.

I personally would welcome an Enhanced Neverwinter Nights, after Baldur's Gate 3, IWDEE, IWD2EE, and Planescape: Torment EE of course :)

Edit: Subtopic - I also remember thinking about how cool Neverwinter Nights could/would have been if the loading screens in Baldur's Gate were correct about transferring your characters to Neverwinter Nights and had come true. Neverwinter Nights on the Infinity Engine? Yes please :)

I get a kick out of the mods that have brought Icewind Dale and Baldur's Gate to the NWN2 engine, because if I had more skill and knowledge (and time) with the Infinity Engine, I'd love to personally bring Neverwinter Nights to the Infinity Engine as an Icewind Dale 2 mod.

Right, so, there are Wild Mages, but, why are there no Wild Sorcerers? Surely, this should also be a class? :o

I think it would be an amazing idea. Something new to add to the Sorcerer Kit. Forgive me if my idea is bad, I just, personally, think it should technically exist, given they are Mages and thusly should also rarely be born Wild Sorcerers.

So, go! Discuss! Flaws, cons, pros, talk it all out! (Try not to be abusive or argue aggressively, sensible opinions only, please.)

Also, to further my point, Sorcerers are Mages that innately(?) memorize their spells. So, surely, there's more wild surging caused from that, than a typical Mage?

Im addicted to BG, specially the 2nd.
My last playthroughs has been solo sorc and F/T + F/M duo. They are all very fun, and the duo turned out patheticly good.

I wanna solo same char in both BG1 and 2.
For some odd reason i havent done that yet.
Im leaning towards F/C since i havent played much cleric at all.

Any tips?
My biggest wonder right now is dualwield or shield. Will for sure be a dwarf with hammers.

Do you think the Isometric style for Baldur's Gate III should look like Dungeon Seige III?

I like how Dungeon Siege III did their isometric style and the character animations and weapons looked great, I am wondering if Baldur's Gate III will take the approach. Does anyone think this is a good idea?

Is it still possible to cast Druid spells as a Ranger Dualed to Cleric ? or did they fix that in BG2EE ?

Ok, so in BG:EE, Sorcerers got a kit.

And it was cool. Dragon Disciple trades one casting of your level 1/2/3/4 spells per day in return for -2AC, 50% Fire Resistance, +1 con (which isn't really a big deal on mages), better hit dice, and the breath. Basically, a slightly less capable Sorcerer that compensates with slightly better natural defenses and a nifty ability. All in all, this is a fairly even trade in BG:EE, maybe even slightly in the favor of the Kit over the vanilla Sorcerer.

But with BG2:EE on the horizon, a lot of things change. In mid-late SoA and especially in ToB, AC becomes less and less important defensively - enemies with very low, even negative THAC0 and decent APR start to become common. The extra HP from those early levels might save you - from about one additional attack when enemies regularly hit for 20+ damage. And now you're not giving up just low-level spell slots, you're giving up an extra Time Stop or Improved Alacrity, Horrid Wilting or Power Word: Blind, etc.

In short - what is the Dragon Disciple going to get to compensate for the loss of those oh-so-incredible high-level spell slots? I hope it's something beyond further Fire Resistance/AC/Breath Weapon progression!

I am at the planar prison. My only mage is Aerie and she has all the wrong spells to encounter the Warden. No true sight, no Breach, nothing. Besides she doesn't have enough levels to cast the aforementioned spells.

So after a Stinking Cloud panic reaction which obviously did nothing and a fireball which did minor damage (I assume it removed the stoneskins) I used Animate Dead and moved away. 5HD Sceleton Warrior with a +1 weapon appears and in a few seconds a Thrall is dead and the Prison Warden is Badly Injured.

What the heck just happened there? I thought the Warden looked too bad@ss to be killed by a summoning.

I can only assume he tried constant spellcasting on the Sceleton Warrio and that the warrior has high MR or something. Any ideas?

Scimatars

Questions about tieflings

For BG2EE I wanted a totally new character. This is what I ended up with, after far to many hours in Photoshop (photo on me to the right, should anyone be insecure which is which): :-D

Now to my questions:

1. Should I play the tiefling as a Human, with the possibility to Dual, or as a Half-Elf with the Multiclass options? Haer'dalis really gives no answer, as he's a Bard. Reading on the Forgotten Realms wiki, I tend to lean towards the Human/Dual choice.

2. Do Tieflings get any racial benefits or disadvantages?

Finally, feel free to suggest cool classes and combos. I made the portrait as "neutral" as possible. The Sword on his back could just as well be a large knife, the Staff a Wand of Magic Missile usable by several classes and so forth. His name will be Astafas though, as my old forum name has a certain infernal smell of sulphur to it. :-D

Sarevok Ascension mod Questions[heavy spoilers]

Now I haven't actually played through the Ascension mod or throne of bhaal quite yet... But I came across some spoilers about Sarevok betraying you under certain conditions. Now I'd like some clarification on that..

If you put him under a geas does he betray you no matter what? Even if you are roleplaying evil and generally encourage him in whatever way in conversations?

I would like to avoid him betraying me, when I'm roleplaying an evil party as I have no intentions to change his alignment.

Preferably I'd like someone who knows pretty much ALL THERE IS TO KNOW about this topic. The scattered info I found across the web annoys me to no end. So unless you are 100% sure, please avoid posting.

I know this isn't technically part of any Enhanced Edition topic as I hear ascension isn't compatible yet, but this is one of the most active boards for current Baldurs gate discussions. I'm sorry if it annoys anyone.

I was gonna ask for the best kit, but they probably go hand in hand. ^^

Im currently on my solo playthrough, but its so damn fun to think, create and build a new character so im already thinking about my next one.

Im gonna play a duo with Aerie.
My male paladin will protect and service my romance and future family with his life and the big juicy Carsomyr.

What kit experiences do you guys have?
