It has been 2 months since the last patch. There are still plenty of bugs and performance(renderer) issues that have to be fixed... On the ipad i can't even finish that quest in the beginning where you have to get the scroll, and with no console to get around in...

What's your best stats roll?
I just started vanilla BG2, and wanted to make a character. I tend to play with the first 80+ roll for my PC. But this one I got upon the very first roll (after stats re-assignment).
STR 18/99
DEX 17
CON 19
INT 14
WIS 10
CHA14
Total 92 with a 18/99. Jesus.

Dragon diciple or Sorcerer?
Hey, I have almost finished the game with my human berserker but now I really feel like trying out a mage like class and thought the sorcerer with its pros were awesome but then I looked at the Dragon Disciple and I can't figure out why someone would chose sorcerer over the dragon disciple.
So what am I missing? The dragon disciple looks exactly like the Sorcerer only with more pros like armor and breath spells? Can the DD use fewer spells or something like that?

When using a throwing weapon like a throwing axe, does an offhand weapon like belm give an extra RANGED attack per round with throwing the axe?

to wait or not to wait... (patch question)
So, I wanna start a brand new game in BGEE... I take my games a bit too serious perhaps since I only get to spend a handful of hours every week; so, they sometimes last for months. (I only play no-reload games and with SCS.)
Should I wait for the upcoming patch to come out before starting a new game? I don't wanna risk having to restart, either because the new patch or an SCS update has changed things greatly.
Any ETA on the patch?
(P.S. Running a Mac)

What to do with Imoen?
Heya guys, it's my first playthrough of BG in so long I can't even remember the story. I do know, however, that canon Imoen gets dual-classed to a mage, and that a lot of people seem to like that. My question now is, would it be viable for me to do it where I am in the game? I'll give you a rough outline of where I am and hopefully I can get some good answers.
I have:
CHARNAME Wild Mage, level 6
Branwen level 6
Dorn level 6
Minsc level 5
Imoen at level 7 (or I can backtrack a bit and have her at 6 (almost 7)
Baeloth at 6
Is it worth dual-classing Imoen at this point and with my party? I also splurged on shadow armor for Imoen and stole Drizzt's scimitars for her. Am I correct in assuming I would never be able to use those in conjunction with her spells? Also, 7 levels is a long time to try to catch up to. I suppose I would have to go with unarmored + dagger of venom if I wanted to continue using her as a thief in the long run? Any advice? Am I smarter to backtrack to level 6 to dual class her even though it would waste a ton (almost 20,000) of xp?

Download links for Ultimate Portrait mod and Sound mod for BGEE
Hey guys, I made these mods for the game after altering the pix sizes on the ultimate portrait pack. It can be found here: http://www.gamefront.com/files/22686920/BGEE+Portraits.rar
Extract the files to a new folder you make called 'portraits' to this directory: (you need to make a new folder called portraits)
C:\Users\YOUR USER NAME\Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\Portraits
The voicesets are all the NPC's from BG1 and a couple others (like Garret from Thief series). :

Just trying to save others time from doing these. Enjoy!

Petrified and hostile? Thanks, Neera.
Okay, Neera managed to petrify Immy with a wild surge, and Imoen's stone statue is hostile to my party! I have a scroll to cure her but I fear she will be hostile again and attack, and there is no way to subdue her. Aww. I play on no reload game so she is gone for good, then? At least she is not dead dead, and will stay as an angry statue in Beregost :-( Any idea if this is a bug or is there a way to win her back?
I've never had my party without Imoen before :-( I had to travel to Sword coast and recruit Safana for the first time. While there cleared the area with Khalid (and potions, check my other thread) and profitted a lot from the massive xp and loot. I sure do miss Immy, though. Neera, this was not cool, not cool at all.

Potions of magic protection stack?
Hey there, at least I had enough time to play BG:EE for quite a good time again, and I discovered magic protection porons stack, I let Khalid gulp two and he had %100 magic resistance. He then gulped potion of cloud giant str and smeared an oil of speed and he massacreed the sirines. They couldn't touch him with spells, their melee attacks also was subject to magic resistance so I profitted from them. With Jaheira's sling and magical bullets he made short work of golems inside pirate cave too, slings are amazing as they gain str damage bonus from the potion and with 2attack/round and speed advantage, golems had no chance. The traps in the cave were all stopped dead cold with Khalid's magic resistance. Wow, Khalid just cleared the whole map by himself and hauled the treasure! Safana was very pleased, and it is a good thing Jaheira was dead (turned into punchison by hobgobs earlier) or that would be a cat-fight...hmm, now that I think about it, I would love to see that! :-D
Anyway, are potions of magic protection supposed to stack? This way you can gulp two and be immune to magic.

A question about Monks and Wizard spells
I need an opinion to understand if the following can be considered a bug.
I was runnning a solo walkthrough with a Monk in BGEE and trying to figure out how to get rid of Aec'Letec. Then I remembered that I got a Wraithform scroll somewhere. This was enough to make the fight with the demon guy almost cheesy.
Now I can't remember if this spell is also present in BG2 and how it works there, but I guess this is supposed to be considered a wizard spell, since it cannot be cast by anyone but Mages (multi or single class) or Monks.
My question is, what's special with monks? Why they should be able to cast wizard spells? Maybe this also happens with other scrolls. My guees is this might be a bug, since this spell becomes way too powerful if it can be used by fighter like classes which can safely ignore the no-casting-spell penalty.

Wand of Fire nerfed?
In my old BG2 and BGT games, I remember wand of fire having two abilities:fireball and scorcher, and each had two seperate charges. You could have a wand of fire with 1 charge of fireball and 20 charges of scorcher, for instance.
I rushed to Ankheg lair, entered invisible thanks to Jaheira's potion of invisibility, looted the wand, smeared on an oil of speed to dash for the exit, and Ankhegs were none the wiser. I had a powerful wand of fire at lvl 1! I had planned to use it to good effect, and it had 12 charges of fireball and scorcher, but I found out that, when I use one ability of the wand, it substracted from both of the charges, much like a sorcerer's casting ability. This nerfs the wand and reduces its full potential by half, IMHO. If it is intentional ora glitch, I don't know. How it is supposed to work in PnP? Seperate charges or charges to fuel the both powers?
Still it is a very powerful weapon for a lvl 1 mageling. I killed off Bassilus, Zargal, Silke (who, with SCS, is a very dangerous opponent!) and blasted off the vampiric wolf horde in Temple area. This netted me a lot of levels, and gold, and items in no time. ^^ A lvl 1 mageling with a meager 4 hit points and spell selection killing off powerful enemies with ease, heh.

So i was On my way to larswood after clearing most of the coast to deal with the bandits there, I killed all the gibberlings at the tower and Baeloth from the black pits was thunderbolted in. After talking for awhile It would appear that his djinn had sent him to the surface and he has lost some of his power. He joined my Party and I've not heard of Him being availible as a party member before. Anyone else Experienced this??

Uniquely Evil Deeds in BGEE: A Thread for the Villainous
*Casts Protection from Good, 10' radius*
I'm curious to learn what kinds of foul things players have done in BGEE that go beyond the scripted evil paths. Yes, we've delighted Kirinhale by tricking Riggilo into accepting of a lock of "Nymph's hair" as a "gift"; we've killed Feldepost's men for Silke even though we knew they were innocent, and some of us have even abandoned a charmed Centeol to waste away in her lair helplessly after killing all of the spiders that fed and took care of her.
But what kinds of creatively nefarious things have you done in the game that extend past the conventional options? (Simply slaughtering everyone in sight and looting their corpses isn't innovative--savage Gnolls can do that.)
For example, after completing Neera's quest at Adoy's Enclave, I dismissed her, after which she pulled her usual guilt-tripping tactics before stomping off in a huff to the Friendly Arm. After a few days, my party found themselves back at the Friendly Arm to get some rest and she approached my PC and started pestering her about joining the party again. I was looking inside my scroll case at the time and saw that I had several cursed scrolls that I couldn't sell. Since they're basically worthless and take up unnecessary space, I decided to put them to "good" use. So, I accepted her into the party once again and, as recompense for her hurt feelings, I offered her a scroll that would "help" her gain further control of her wild magic. Unfortunately, for her, it was Cursed Scroll of Ugliness and her Charisma was set to 3. I apologized, telling her I had no idea it was cursed and then gave her a "Remove Curse" scroll to cast so she could quickly remove her affliction. Yet again, I was "mistaken," and she turned to stone before our eyes--a curiously grotesque, living statue to decorate the hall.
Yes, my PC could have just dismissed her once again. However, this way, she can visit Neera anytime she desires without having to suffer her personality.
I look forward to reading the tales of your (mis)deeds.
