Okay in the original Baldur's Gate when you went into the settings menu you could adjust the brightness of the game. This was vital for me because the default setting was too dark, I needed to adjust it so that I could see what the heck I was doing when I went into caves and such (the default setting was just to dark, the only thing I could make out were the enemy circles). When I went into settings for the enhanced edition, I couldn't adjust, is this feature just lost or is there some new way to do it that I don't know about?

Joia is holding out on you!
I always thought it humorous how Joia in the Friendly Arm Inn, wants your help finding her Flamedance Ring that was taken from her by Hobgoblins. When you ask what's in it for me? (evil response) she says "Nothing. I have no gold to give. I was just robbed, remember?"
Yet..... When you pick the lock on her chest, there's an Andar Gem in there. Also, if you kill her, she has 163 gold on her corpse. She's also worth *900* EXP, making me think she was just lazy and could have killed those Hobgoblins herself. What peasant is worth that much exp?
So in the end, I like to complete the quest, then take her out and grab the coin that *should* have been my reward. That's what evil chickens do.

No one has said a word
I got this cause I thought it had all the improvements of Baldur's Gate II but I've gotten all the way into Nashkel and been playing for over four hours with a full party and no one has said a word, I kept the original 5 I got (khaleed and Jaheera, Xzar and Montaron, and Imoen) because I wanted to see what they would say with all the banters and discussions like the NPCs in BGII had, and yet they haven't spoken yet other than the banters they did in BG 1. Am I being impatient, do they break their silence or do they only say the things they already said in the original game and if so then I feel like I didn't get what I paid for because that was the one reason I got this. It said it had all the improvements of BG2

Which Thief do evil parties prefer?
I'm asking this question because the only evil thief in the game requires a little friend to come with him or comes too late in the game, so I figure I might ask this question, because I'm very confused as who to use and who everyone would consider using if they took an evil party and couldn't or didn't want Monty (Or maybe you prefer Monty...)

No More Archer Dart Bonuses?
I couldn't find it in any of the patch notes, but it seems they have made it so that Archers can no longer gain mastery+ with darts/no longer receive archer bonuses on attacks made with darts. When/why they change this?

Gnome - Fighter/Illusionist/Thief
Obviously a triple class gnome isn't allowed in BGEE. If I were to use Shadowkeeper to create a 1/1/1 gnome, would I be able to import that character into BG2 or BG2EE? I guess the general question is can you import custom race/class/kits from BG to BG2?
Also, would such a class be better or worse than a straight Fighter/Illusionist? If I want to run a party of 4-6, would the triple class level too slow?
I feel odd making a fighter/mage gnome, as I don't see them as in your face warrior types. Adding thief would make the character more of a backstab/invis/sneaky feel. I would make a Illusionist/Rogue (possibly with a kit), but I hear that their thac0 is too low, hence the need for some fighter levels.
Also, any recommendations for weapons to use would be appreciated. I was thinking staff/short bow.

Mystery of the roll
When this game first came out I was still rather young. I started the game and, even though it is rather difficult at start anyway, I didn't do too well. Now of course the metagaming skills of an 11 year old aren't usually top level, but there was something else at play. I am wondering if any other people had the following experience:
Realizing only after your third playing attempt that your stat's total amount is different each roll and your initial characters sucked ***** :)

The Adventures of Tilly Wigglebottom (2nd page)
Hey I'm either going to make a cleric or cleric/mage - with intelligence of 9. (role-playing, mind)
I've done a bit of forum searching but came up empty, although I know this has been asked before:
In BG:EE, does intelligence limit the spell levels a mage is able to reach? Or only the number of spells allowed per spell level?

Blade - Offensive Spin and Improved Haste?
I know that you can't stack a Blade's innate Offensive Spin ability with Haste, but does offensive spin work with Improved Haste? I don't mean can you get more attacks than usual with Improved Haste, but can you still get the +2 THAC0/damage and max damage per hit if you try to combine both? Is it even possible to combine both? If so, do you have to start one before the other, if so, which one? Thanks

Montaron and Xzar - Do I need both fro Nashkil Mines?
I just started BGEE. I had Mortoran and Xcar in my party to do the Nashel Mine quest, but Xcar just got killed. Do I need him to complete the quest? Years ago I'd boot both of them out of my party as soon as the quest was done, and currently I don't feel like dragging him along if I don't have too.

I had read that there were a couple spell scrolls in Adoy's Enclave, but after defeating Ekandor and looking all through the cave, I couldn't find any.

I thought I had read that Stoneskin could be found here. I'm wondering if it didn't show up because Ekandor used Stoneskin twice in our battle, and maybe he used up the scroll? At this point, I'd have to redo almost the entire map in order to redo that battle. I could do so, if necessary, although I'd rather avoid doing so.

Thought about suggesting changes/feature requests
I write this in response to some feature requests threads I read lately.
Here is my thought about suggesting changes in general. People usually express their personal opinion on how the game could change for better for themselves and ask community for support/discussion of their idea. Some people would usually agree and some disagree. And what now? Should such a discussion of limited number of people lead to an actual change that would have impact on everyone? On what basis? I think there should be one rule (for lack of a better word), where everyone suggesting a change should first ask themselves a question. "How does my suggestion impact those, who wouldn't agree with me?" This is crucial! If a change can be ignored by those who wouldn't agree to it, then everything is fine (for example, druids can now wear Ankegh plate, if someone think they shouldn't they aren't forced to wear it.). But if a change would force itself on everyone, even those who don't agree with it, then it just feels wrong! Doesn't it? BG series are established and popular games and one would expect enhanced edition to be at the very least as enjoyable as the old version. One would be very disappointed if EE was to feature change to worse (from their personal point of view). So if the latter was the case, than the proposer should resort to mods, instead of trying to force their opinion on everyone.
So that's about all I wanted to say. I'd just like to inspire people to be more thoughtful about this sort of things.

Who are the artists who designed BG1 and BG2 portraits?
Hey there , I've seen so much from the IWD artists, but I honestly don't know who drew and coloured BG's portraits.
Specially BG1's , they look so real, as if the artist had used real life people to create the npc's.
Also, do you how did they paint the portraits? I've seen tutorials by Jason Manley's on how to give that 'oil painting' look to IWD portraits, but I've always wanted to 'Baldurize' a portrait.
