Shadow Keeper and some items not found in-game.
As the title suggests i browsed shadowkeeper after a long time and found ALOT of magical items that do not appear neither in-game nor in websites, for instance i found a mace+2 -1dex +2 attacks per round,a sword with a +9 enchancement vs dragons and generally alot of interesting stuff, any idea what are they for? will they be used maybe in BG2 EE or are they a gift for modders? also did they always exist?
ps:i'm posting because some of them i would love to see in BG2 EE

question re: reputation in BG city end of chapter 5 for mixed alignment party (major spoilers)
I have a mixed alignment party finishing up chapter 5. Rep is now 16. I can only afford to increase rep by one more point lest I lose Shar-Teel and Xzar.
I'm about to complete Scar's sewer crawl quest (no rep increase per Dudleyville), and then it's on the the Iron Throne, and Eltan will disptach the party to Candlekeep (again no rep increase, per Dudleyville).
Best I can tell, the next rep altering situation is the return to BG city with rep lowered. So it seems I won't risk losing my evil NPCs if I proceed with the plot without doing anything further to lower rep. Is this an accurate assessment?
On a side note, I noticed that Phandalyn, the paladin who goes hostile at any evil character at an inn in Baldur's Gate SW, was no longer there after completing the Seven Suns/Merchant's League quest. I guess if I needed to I could CLUA him. But that encounter drops rep from where the party is now to 9, and then the rep loss from the return to Candlekeep would place rep a little lower than I would like anyway. In any event, does Phandalyn only appear for a certain amount of time?

Can Bhaalspawn be resurrected? [Spoilers]
Does anyone know? I recall there is PnP regarding the Bhaalspawn but I have not yet had the opportunity to read it. Given that Imoen is a Bhaalspawn and can be resurrected via normal methods in SoA & ToB I presume that the answer could be yes?
If that is the case, and interesting hypothetical question would be: Should the game end if you still have party members available who can resurrect you? In an good aligned party would they just abandon your corpse?

Question on "Weapon Breaking Sound" added in v1.0.2014
Does the sound actually occur when the weapon breaks and the message appears on your screen? If so, then I'm not so sure its working for off-hand weapons. I just had my off-hand mace break and there was no sound.

Who actually kills Elminster?
Figured I would ask. As a FR purist, the thought of my low-level party killing the guy, who casts no spells in the whole combat, for a lump of exp and his non-magical quarterstaff is ridiculous. Slaying Drizzt I can handle, because at least he drops good gear and can (depending on the way you kill him) put up a hell of a fight. But dropping the Sage of Shadowdale just doesn't sit well for me... no matter the experience cost.

Swashbuckler Damage and Hitting Bonuses
Do the Swashbuckler's to hit and damage bonuses apply to all attacks (more specifically, ranged)?

Dual classing information
Just to make sure I got it right...
It's possible to dual class a generalist and a kit. So I can make a swashbuckler and then dual class into a fighter.
It's impossible to dual class 2 kits. So I can't make a berserker and then dual class it into an assassin.
If you dual class a thief into a fighter, you keep the thief abilities and will be able to access epic rogue specialization of ToB
It's impossible to multi-class any specialized kit. You can only multi-class generalist.

Experience from learning spells and opening locks/disarming traps in BG2:EE
I know it's too early to talk about, but I think it is worth discussing.
In BG:EE we get small amount of XP from learning spells and opening locks/disarming traps and I like it.
In the next part of the game XP from everything comes in thousands rather then dozens.
The vanilla BG2 gives you thousands of XP for learning spells and opening locks/disarming traps and I find it quite exploitable.
I suggest keeping the XP system from BG:EE in the next part of the game.
Although it doesn't follow the vanilla BG2 it would prevent fast levelling up. I mean, if you open 100 locks in BG2 you'd get XP enough for XP cap in BG:EE.
At least it would prevent gaining XP from learning - deleting - learning again - spells.
It is also noteworthy that in BG Trilogy the system of gaining small amount of XP from learning spells and opening locks/disarming traps is active during the whole game and it doesn't break anything.
Maybe the best solution will be to have a configurable option on this subject in the menu where it could be set what amount of XP from learning spells and opening locks/disarming traps you gain.

Is there enough equipment to build a party of mages or dual class fighter mages?
I've not played the EE yet as I've been holding out for Mac support. I'm just wondering with this version and the new equipment, if there is enough gear I could equip a party of all fighters or mages, etc if I chose to? I got the impression your better off diversifying your party.

Best party (IWD style)
So with my continued defeats at the hands of Davidw's nefarious SCS mod I've decided to attempt a few no-reload runs with full custom parties just to up my chances a little bit.
My first attempt pre-2014 was:
Fighter/illusionist charname
Blade
Avenger
Cleric/thief
Berserker (7)/thief
Inquisitor
With archery being fixed I can finally try the archer build I've wanted to do:
Swashbuckler (5)/fighter archer (longsword/bow)
What do you think is the absolute best possible party for completing BG1 from start to finish?

A Witcher-like character
Hello ladies and gents. I'm a big fan of the Witcher stories, novels, and games. I think the author and the game developers do a great job of not only storytelling, but of the lore of witchers themselves.
Those of you that are familiar with the witcher, what are your thoughts on a class/kit that resembles a witcher's skillset? For example, one that jumps to mind for me is the Blade. The blade has combat prowess, can cast arcane spells but not as much as a pure mage, and is very adaptable.
What do you guys think?

Thought about suggesting changes/feature requests
I write this in response to some feature requests threads I read lately.
Here is my thought about suggesting changes in general. People usually express their personal opinion on how the game could change for better for themselves and ask community for support/discussion of their idea. Some people would usually agree and some disagree. And what now? Should such a discussion of limited number of people lead to an actual change that would have impact on everyone? On what basis? I think there should be one rule (for lack of a better word), where everyone suggesting a change should first ask themselves a question. "How does my suggestion impact those, who wouldn't agree with me?" This is crucial! If a change can be ignored by those who wouldn't agree to it, then everything is fine (for example, druids can now wear Ankegh plate, if someone think they shouldn't they aren't forced to wear it.). But if a change would force itself on everyone, even those who don't agree with it, then it just feels wrong! Doesn't it? BG series are established and popular games and one would expect enhanced edition to be at the very least as enjoyable as the old version. One would be very disappointed if EE was to feature change to worse (from their personal point of view). So if the latter was the case, than the proposer should resort to mods, instead of trying to force their opinion on everyone.
So that's about all I wanted to say. I'd just like to inspire people to be more thoughtful about this sort of things.

Why do I have to be a pansy with Parda?
This is something that has always bugged me, right from day one.
So my Elven Archer (or any other Charname) steps into the Priests Quarters in Candlekeep, and get's attacked by Shank. Luckily, my charname is a pretty stout lass, and she one-shots Shank with an arrow to the face from her composite long bow. Shank goes down like a sack of crap, and charname heads merrily out of the Priests Quarters, only to be approached by Parda.
First, Parda says "Charname, you cut yourself above the brow, there ...". Wait, what? When did that happen? Did shank cut my brow while he was eating my arrow? I don't remember Shank getting close enough ... maybe it isn't a cut, maybe it's just some splash back from shanks face.
Second, my only choices to respond to the mystery cut are:
1.) Oh, Parda! There was a man in there, he smelled like the stables, and he - and he tried to kill me, it was horrible ...
or
2.) It's - nothing Parda. One of the cats didn't like me petting it. I'm all right, really ...
Where's the "A greasy grubber jumped me in there, but I stuffed an arrow down his throat" option?
Obviously not a very big deal, but from an RP perspective, I've never liked this whole exchange.
In other news, can you tell who just started a new game?

Minsc Alignment Query
Minsc is unique in that Bioware changed his alignment from Neutral Good to Chaotic Good between BG and BG2. The stats on some of the other returning NPCs also changed, but this was the only purely flavor-based changed. I think most players probably agree that that CG comes closer to Minsc's behavior in both games.
Has Bioware ever clarified what their intentions were with this change? For example, have they clarified whether the change reflected a correction or a timeline-related change in Minsc's alignment? Maybe they just wanted to avoid having 2 Chaotic Good rangers in the original game?
I'm putting this here instead of "Feature Requests" because I figure it would've already been changed if the philosophy of the creators was consistent with this kind of change, but I still want to hear about any discussion I might have missed on this point.

Two things about my Dragon Disciple
And one about this forum. I am sincerely unable to find a search function. In my mind, I am perfectly forgiven for any crime I commit by possibly asking two questions I could have had answered with a simple search. =)
actually, checked the bug forum. so make it one thing:
For two, the breath special ability sounds like it's supposed to be a cone attack, but from my experience it's more like a fireball with a tiny blast radius. Misunderstanding or miswriting? Any tips for aiming it - I can only seem to hit targets very close to the impact point, and certainly nothing between said spot and my DD.

The XP Cap: A Flaw in the Game's Design
Okay. So I'm playing the EE, having a grand old time with Dorn, Montaron, Shar-Teel, Viconia and Baeloth. I started by moving in a straight line from the FAI to Beregost to Nashkel, completing any quests that popped up along that route; after the Nashkel Mines and the Bandit Camp, I cleared every "miscellaneous" map (ie: Dryad Falls, Gnoll Stronghold, Gullykin, Ulcaster, etc.) and then I proceeded through Cloakwood. At the start of chapter 5, rather than head to Baldur's Gate, I diverted to Ulgoth's Beard and completed all the TotSC content. (I don't consider this sequence breaking simply because Ulgoth's Beard is accessible at that point.)
My party now stands at the edge of Wyrm's Crossing, ready to enter the city. And here's the problem: the entire gruop has hit the XP cap of 161,000. I have absolutely no reason to complete the many, many side quests in the city because there's nothing to gain - only four pieces of loot could benefit my party at this point (Ramazith's Metaspell amulet, Degrodel's Helm of Balduran, Black Lily's Dexterity tome and the Wisdom tome from the Lady's House).
As I see it, the issue is one of effort vs. reward: if my NPCs can't gain any more levels and they already have the best equipment the game can offer them, I can't see any reason to bother with the massive number of tasks in the city - my party is at its peak and literally can't improve any more, might as well just charge Sarevok and wrap things up.
Has anyone else encountered this problem? Would it be resolved by raising the XP cap?

Rasaad's Quest
What is the latest time to get Rasaad in the group and start his quest?
I have Neera and Dorn in my group and I want to keep them. But I dont want to miss Rasaads quest. So I'd like to get him in my group and just do his quest with him and afterwards I want to have my old pary back.
So is there a latest point I can have him in my group?
And a second question: What would be the earliest time to do his quest without getting killed all the time??
Thanks for your answers!!
