I cant seem to make the demon appear from the tree in Resurection Gorge. I have talked to the Druid and got the other 2 stones. Any ideas?

Portrait Resolution inconsistency
So, with BG:EE 1.2 and BG2:EE, the engine only uses the largest custom portrait for the characters displayed on the right. But for some reason it doesn't do this for in-game portraits. So all your NPCs are still using low resolution versions while your main character with custom portrait is using high resolution version. This creates a bit of a inconsistency between the portraits.
Can we expect that this will get addressed at some point?

Are Bolt of Glory and/or False Dawn good against Liches?
I've never used them, so I'd like some opinions from the community. Most undead are pushovers, so I'm wondering if I should bother using spellslots on them.
Maybe I'll try out Bolt of Glory against some demons, 10d6 seems like a pretty powerful spell.

Can you reacquire Kivan?
So having started a new BG:EE game with a series of mods that make the game tougher, I have found that I've spent a lot of time resting due to taking more damage etc. With this in mind, perhaps someone could help me.
The first thing I did after looting Gorion was going down to High Hedge and recruiting Kivan. Now, this is the first time I've played BG:EE, I have played Vanilla many times so when I approached Kivan, I expected him to initiate dialogue with me however he did not, so I talked to him and apparently this triggers a timer of 20 days (Since it was chapter 1) to get to the Bandit Camp (Or Office Vai I think satisfies too) or he will leave.
So as said, having spent a lot of time resting due to various tough encounters, the timer expired and he left. I didn't think much of it, I just expected him to be mooching around the Bandit Camp but upon getting there, he's no where to be found. I've explored the entire bandit camp but I can't see him. My question is, if an NPC leaves due to a timer expiring, are they completely removed from the game, never to be seen again or can I find Kivan somewhere else? I realise I can get Coran as well which, if I can't get Kivan again I'll probably do just that but it's still a bit frustrating as Kivan had some decent items on him.

Question about Dual-Class
So I have looked around for info on this but most info seems to assume you know about it already...
So say I wanted to make a Fighter/Cleric (Berserker) If I lvled the Fighter to 12 then Dual-Classed to a Cleric dose that mean I start over as a lvl 1 Cleric and lose all my Fighter skills? Then when I lvl up the Cleric enough I get my Fighter stuff back?
Also if I was lvling up my skill with say a sword as the fighter would I lose all that when I switched over to Cleric? Would it then lock me into blunt weapons until I get my fighter skills back?
As you can see I am confused as to how exactly this works.

Dorn's Third Quest (Spoilers)
So I'm trying to complete Dorn's third(?) quest. I'm at the stage in which it asks for the sacrifice of a sapient being. The dialogue seems to hint that I could sacrifice the druid, or something else, but I can only get the quest to progress by sacrificing a party member.
Is it supposed to work that way, or am I missing something here?
One thing I don't understand...
Why do Dwarves get a -2 penalty to charisma, but Half-Orcs don't? To me, it would make more sense if H-O got the negative as well, since they wouldn't fit in with Orcs or Humans.

Any way to become immune to dispel/remove magic if you're not part mage?
Mages have their toy for this, spell immunity: abjuration, which makes dispels bounce off you harmlessly, but since I'm currently playing a ranger/cleric, it makes me wonder whether or not it's possible with them too. There's a new belt that can cast globe of minor invulnerability, which is supposed to protect against level 3 or lower spells, but Firkraag's remove magic didn't really seem to care about that tiny fact.
Does shield of the archons provide any resistance, or maybe spell turning from the book of infinite spells? It's been a while since I've played a high level non-mage char, and I can't seem to recall any tricks for dispel immunity it seems...

In your opinion: Which Monk is the best monk and why?
As the topic states, I'm curious which Monk you all think is the best, and why. I'll vote for standard monk because I like both Stunning Blows and Quivering Palm, but I'm curious what others think.

Most Annoying Thing About the Game So Far...
Having to reposition my characters every time I reload. Single player, multiplayer, doesn't matter, every time I load the game I have to move the character portraits on the right side of the screen to put my tanks in front, wizards in back, etc, etc, etc.
When you die every 2 seconds on a quick save, and have to load again 2 seconds later, only to die again, this becomes exceptionally tedious. Is there no way to actually save the character portrait positions in the party, when you save the game?
This would be a godsend in my opinion.

So in BG 2 You were able to press ctrl+shift+8 and have 18 in all stats.

Poverty Run FINISHED!
I've seen people post about playthroughs with special rules like no-reloads, speed runs and such. I wanted to try a solo poverty run. I've never seen anybody post about poverty runs here and I don't know if that means nobody's tried one (I doubt I'm the first to do something like this honestly) or there's no point in trying. Anyway...
The rules I was going to restrict myself to are:
1) Solo, no companions.
2) No equipment or consumables used other than the quarterstaff I start the game with.
3) Pick up no items unless they're used for a quest. I can't equip or use any quest item for anything but the quest (ex: I can bring Hull his long sword but I cannot equip it).
4) I want to start at Insane difficulty and keep it there as much as possible. I won't drop it for any quest or fight that isn't part of the main quest line. If I cant beat it I'll skip it or come back to it later. However, if I get to a point where I cannot continue the story I'll probably drop the difficulty just to keep the game going.
Other than that I think anything is fair game. As for class and race, I was thinking multiclass cleric/thief gnome. I think it's a pretty versatile kit, especially considering limited resources. Spell casting - not reliant on scrolls (no items remember!), and the versatility and damage of stealth, backstabs, and traps. I bet its doable with a sorcerer too, but I've done a solo sorcerer run with equipment and I want to try something a little different from that experience this time.
So what do you think? Is this possible or am I on a fools errand? Where am I most likely to hit a wall here? Any suggestions on how to play a cleric/thief?
