Thanks @Decado for bringing this to my attention. According to his thread about Mr. Oster's interview with RPGamer, the 'easier' setup of multiplayer with match matching will be post release. Now being one of the youngest people on these forums (22), I don't know how to do the whole 'port forwarding, ip address forwarding, TCP/IP, direct connection, etc. etc.' to connect to another PC via LAN.
I'll elaborate: Myself and three of my friends are going to be playing BG:EE the weekend of release. Three via LAN and the other is away for college and will connect over the Interwebz. Judging by the interview, we won't be able to play together until around BG2:EE unless some of us learn the 'old way' to connect to play online.
TL;DR : Is there a way (without downloading 3rd party software like Hamachi) to connect online and play this weekend? Could anyone elaborate on how to do this?
