Saved game problem

I was fooling around and accidentally lost access to my saved games. Note to self: don't mess with the computer late at night.

My games are still in the folder "baldur's gate enhanced edition\saves".
When I tried to load within the game there were no saves listed.
What did I do? Any thoughts before I reinstall?
