Baldur's Gate: An Education

Do you think that a game like Baldur's Gate can be an educational tool? Not only are there the possibilities to develop tactics and strategies but in terms of the story lines I recall that Baldur's Gate introduced me to a far wider range of vocabulary when it was released than many of the mundane literature texts often forced upon teenagers attending school back then, and even more so now. I would also put Planescape Torment in this category. For others it was an opportunity to learn computing skills via modding and so on.
