What are people's opinions regarding a possible gender for the protagonist if someone was to write a new novel for the Baldur's Gate series. This is just personal opinion only (The current Baldur's Gate books were blasphemy as far as I am concerned and should not be used as reference).
While I feel the game is slightly biased in favour of a male protagonist, particularly with the good selection of romances available, if I were to write my own novel of the Baldur's Gate series I can see a lot of potential in using a female protagonist as it would potentially create a far greater contrast between the character e.g. female vanilla Mage vs Sarevok (the Deathbringer).
