As someone who plays Baldur's Gate primarily from an RP perspective arguably one of my favourite classes to play through the entire trilogy is a human pure non-specialist mage. I think the character fits in perfectly with growing up in Candlekeep, being Gorions Ward and Sarevok's brother. For me it is also more in line with PnP where kits were meant to be very rare. I also enjoy a pure bard for BG1.
