But I've finally finished BG1. I played it first on a holiday and got up to BG somewhere but the holiday ended. Some time later I finished BGII extensively and then played NWN 1 and 2 extensively but never finished BG1. Until today.
Bit of an anticlimax without cutscenes on the ipad but I you tubed the final vid which was a decent alternative. Perhaps add built in YouTube streaming of cutscenes at appropriate times or even just the link?
Fair to say that I rofflestomped the boss; I didn't even notice him going down but apparently my charname took care of him in just a few rounds while the others were mostly taking care of the others.
Did I power game? Hell yes, 95 point berserker (6)/Druid (10) with something like -15 AC vs slashing and grandmastery in scimitars. Probably one of the most powerful builds in BG1 IMO (though 8/9 might have been better in retrospect but I wanted the extra level 5 slot and didnt want to wait so long for fighter abilities even though I didn't use spells that much in the end though I'm not sure if that split would be able to get GM).
(Total xp, % kills, xp value, number of kills. Last chapter then overall, time with party)
Charname: 57%, 45%, 41610, 25. 60%, 59%, 524693, 810. 137 days, 8 hours
Coran: 15%, 21%, 10945, 12. 14%, 12%, 126620, 170. 71 days, 21 hours
Dorn: 16%, 16%, 11735, 9. 14%, 14%, 128158, 196. 97 days, 12 hours
Viconia: 11%, 5%, 8035, 3. 4%, 4%, 37358, 62. 99 days, 22 hours (with 19 strength belt and stupifier)
Neera: 0%, 7%, 455, 4. 4%, 8%, 39665, 117. 101 days, 19 hours
Edwin: 0%, 3%, 70, 2. 1%, 1%, 15875, 15. 38 days, 20 hours
Coran did well to catch up and I definitely support the idea of him being the best NPC in the game. Results are skewed due to soloing high XP stuff at the start (I was 6/6 when I got Neera iirc). In dungeons I often took charname solo just to avoid reloads from traps killing off squishies who had bad HP from picking up everyone at level 6. Boots of speed also helped charname get to fights faster.
I do think maybe I didn't utilise my wizards enough but its harder to target AoEs safely on the ipad (or I'm must older and stupider) and it seemed slower to pause and target rather than just letting the tanks clean up with an occasional fireball thrown on top if not risky.
I'm planning on a "good" insane difficulty run through now. After that ill try a no reload hardcore evil run.
