24 bit tile rendering for new areas

Has this been implemented already (or partially implemented)? It was mentioned, prior to release, that it would only be implemented later on as a patch. But since release day I've noticed what seems to be a whole lot more color depth on the Neera quest map, Adoy's Enclave.
