I'm sure you're all familiar with DSimpson's BG Walkthrough (http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/75251-baldurs-gate/faqs/2456). At the bottom, he's typed out the quotes for every character's sound files. I've never been able to extract them successfully, so I wasn't able to hear most of them until BGEE came out and I found a way to force some interactions between NPCs. So, now I've heard almost all of the sound files I have wanted to for the last decade or so (wow). All except the ones about Edwin's shinies.
If you check out the guide, just do a Find on the page for "shinies" - it will bring you right to the quotes in question. I've also pasted them below.

What. On. Earth. Are. These?
They sound like something Cespenar would say, only he's quite some time away. As I said, I could never get the hang of extracting and playing the files, so I don't even know if it's the same voice actor as Edwin; all I know is that DSimpson has them listed under Edwin.
Does anyone know the story behind these or how to trigger them in the game? It's driving me bonkers. (And I hope the answer isn't "It's another character that you can easily find at X" and I've essentially languished for a long time for no reason.)

"Ohh... I'm not much help for you. I'll just sit with the pretties and watch them sparkle."
"Aah! Help!"
"I sad, but... sparkle makes for happy."
I not like sad thoughts. I go sit with the pretties."
"I once had shinies piled up to the sky. I no remember where they are."
"You find me friends... ok?"
