So, I've almost always played BG as a fighter, or a multi-classed fighter. I've usually been the tank. I decided to try something different for the first playthrough of BGEE. Initially I was a swashbuckler, but then by the time I made it to Nashkel, I wasn't happy with some of my choices in terms of party, or my character, so I'm now running a half-elven blade. I'm really enjoying it.
Early on, it's tough though, there are no real tanks, and it's really made me change the way I play things.
The trouble is, I haven't found a NPC tank that quite fills the role as well as my PC always did.
